Modifications for 2.50 include

Browsing the Internet / Help / File Manager / Explorer / Paint Programs

The Toggle Motion / Keys option is wonderful for surfing the web; using Explorer; or reading on-line manuals, or other informational content. This feature is assigned to a button, which is used to toggle the joystick from acting like a mouse into acting like the cursor keys (Left, Right , Up & Down Arrow Keys)! A user can simply point & click to get to a web page, and then toggle the action so pulling back on the joystick is equivalent to pressing the down arrow key. For scrolling documents, web pages, graphics, etc. this is "Way Cool!!" The keystrokes are fully modifiable, and can be sent continuously or one at a time.

Acceleration?

We went to the wall with this feature - what is called "acceleration" truly does not fit the dictionary definition, rather it creates a response curve for velocities calculated as the joystick moves off center. This "modified" approach was required to give the joystick the right "feel". The TurboCharged cursor acceleration is true acceleration, i.e. change of velocity over time - but we added tweaks to that, too!

Cursor Wrap / Motion Inversion

To accommodate infrared joysticks & Virtual Reality (VR) devices, the ability to invert the "joystick" motion vs. the cursor was added for both Horizontal & Vertical motions (X & Y axes). For applications where the edge of the screen should not be a boundary, the ability to "Wrap" the cursor around the screen was added as an option, which allows the cursor to go off the screen on one side & return on the opposite side with no interruption.

Presets

Presets track the entire configuration & may be saved. Multiple configurations may be saved for different users, different devices, or different applications. Gives you an easy way to save the current configuration so you can return to it later.

AutoSense Button Assignments / Stop

This allows advanced & sophisticated power users the ability to assign special joystick button settings to multiple applications, or stop the Joystick-To-Mouse operation when a specified application becomes active.

Wizard's Helpers

This unique feature in Joystick-To-Mouse explains each step of the way through the calibration process, and Add New Hardware Wizard in Windows 95. Also included is an "Automatic" feature which steps through the process, allowing a user to calibrate the joystick without the need for an actual keyboard or mouse.

Graphical Menus / User Interface / Supervisor - Operator Operation

A great deal of attention was spent on the overall user-interface, and many fine details are included, such as large graphical buttons, visual & audio feedback, descriptive help, re-organized screens & groupings. Many features are available only when the Advanced settings are enabled, hiding the complexity for basic use, and recognizing that many people do not need every last feature available & that in most cases it complicates the issues and compromises the needs of the user. For controlled applications and the special needs of certain users, an Operator Mode was added to give the user access only to the options absolutely necessary. For configuration & changes, a Supervisor password is required.

Popup Help / Context Sensitive Help / On-Line Manual

Since most users want to use the software first, and learn all about its advanced features later, special Popup Help was added to explain every configuration / menu option available. Detailed Context Sensitive help is quickly available by pressing the "Help" button at each screen. In order to preserve natural resources and recognizing that most printed manuals are used sparingly (if at all), a complete On-Line manual is included for reference, and may be printed by the user if necessary.

Diagnostic / Custom Calibration

Almost all of our technical support either involved the actual Joystick installation, or the Joystick Calibration. In order to make our lives easier, we have included a DOS based Joystick Diagnostic Program (JD.EXE) which can determine if the joystick is properly installed, and our own Joystick-To-Mouse Custom Calibration which visually indicates the Joystick operation and all of the key operating parameters can be modified & tested "on-the-fly."
